SCAC Announces 2006 All-SCAC Field Hockey Team
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - DePauw University’s Allison Baccich and Rhodes College’s Hilary Mast, the top two scorers in the league, were selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Co-Players-of-the-Year in exclusive voting by the league’s head field hockey coaches. In that same voting, Emily Boyle of Centre College and Claiborne Buckingham of Sewanee: University of the South split the vote and share the league’s Defensive Player-of-the-Year award.

Kristen Lee of Rhodes was voted as the SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year and Carla Lane of DePauw received the nod for SCAC Coach-of-the-Year for the second consecutive year.

Last season at DePauw University, fourth-seeded Centre College defeated top-seeded Rhodes College, 1-0 on strokes, and second-seeded DePauw, 2-1 in overtime to take the 2005 SCAC title.

In the championship match, Centre's Beth Faulkner scored the game-tying goal on an assist from Ashley Distler with just 30 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. Teresa Johnstone scored the game-winning goal at the 5:46 mark of the first overtime to give the Colonels the 2005 SCAC Championship.
