Bronson has highly successful run in Cape Cod League

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -
Trinity's Evan Bronson, a 36th round draft choice of the
Milwaukee Brewers in this past year's MLB amateur draft, ended
a very successful off-season with the Brewster Whitecaps in
the prestigious Cape Cod Summer Baseball League. Bronson
finished with a 3.19 ERA - fourth on this team among all
starters - and struck out 17 in 31.0 innings of work.

Millsaps' Abrams Awarded NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
Senior infielder Hunter Abrams
of Millsaps College has been selected as one of 174 recipients
of a 2007-08 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. Abrams, a baseball player
from Columbus, Miss., is among a group of 58 student-athletes
that compete in a spring sport in NCAA Divisions I, II, and
III to receive a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship.

Bronson Drafted and Oates Signs Deal With Major League
Baseball Teams

SAN ANTONIO, Texas
- Trinity's Evan Bronson (pictured far left) was
selected in the Major League Baseball draft by the Milwaukee
Brewers last weekend, while Brian Oates (pictured far
right) signed a contract to play in the Seattle Mariners
organization. Former Tiger pitcher Chuck Huggins was also
drafted for the second straight year, picked by the Toronto
Blue Jays in 2008.

Hunter Owen of Millsaps College was named the
league’s Offensive Player-of-the-Year for the second
consecutive season and John Tschantz of DePauw University was
selected the league’s Pitcher-of-the-Year in exclusive 2008
all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) voting by
the conference’s head coaches. In that same balloting, Sam
Hill of Birmingham-Southern was selected as the conference’s
Freshman-of-the-Year and Trinity University head coach Tim
Scannell was named the SCAC Coach-of-the-Year.

Dylan Early, the Trinity University Tigers knocked off No. 2
seed George Fox University on the first day of the NCAA
Division III West Region Baseball Championships Wednesday at

2008 All-Tournament Baseball Team
DANVILLE, Ky. -
On the heels of
one of the most amazing championship game finishes in conference history,
the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference releases its 2008
All-Tournament baseball team.
After Millsaps College forced a decisive second game against Trinity
University in the SCAC title game on Sunday with a 10-5 win in the opener,
junior shortstop Stosh Hoover delivered a two-out, two-RBI double to
right-center in the bottom of the ninth to cap a four-run ninth inning and
propel the top-seeded Tigers into the NCAA Tournament.

The 2008 SCAC Divisional Baseball
Tournament begins Friday, April 18 and will be played at
Millington USA Field in Millington, Tenn. The top four teams
from each division square off in best-of-three series with the
winners advancing to the 2008 SCAC Baseball Championship at
Centre College. DePauw University is the top seed from the
East Division and Trinity University is the West Division top
seed.

(SCAC), Rhodes College

- The SCAC had three players selected as a 2008 All-American by
D3baseball.com. Senior pitcher Robert Flanagan and senior

named second team while Vanaman was an honorable mention
