SCAC Announces 2008 All-Tournament Baseball Team
DANVILLE, Ky. -
On the heels of one of the most amazing championship game finishes in conference history, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference releases its 2008 All-Tournament baseball team. After Millsaps College forced a decisive second game against Trinity University in the SCAC title game on Sunday with a 10-5 win in the opener, junior shortstop Stosh Hoover delivered a two-out, two-RBI double to right-center in the bottom of the ninth to cap a four-run ninth inning and propel the top-seeded Tigers into the NCAA Tournament. 2008 SCAC Divisional Baseball Tournament
MILLINGTON, Tenn. -
The 2008 SCAC Divisional Baseball Tournament begins Friday, April 18 and will be played at Millington USA Field in Millington, Tenn. The top four teams from each division square off in best-of-three series with the winners advancing to the 2008 SCAC Baseball Championship at Centre College. DePauw jumps to 14th; Rhodes 21st in ABCA/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Top 30
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - DePauw University made a 13 place jump in the rankings, moving from 27th to 14th in this week's American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) regular season Top 30 which was released on Tuesday. Rhodes College, which was 23rd in the last poll,, moved up two places to 21st. Millsaps College, which was tied for 23rd with Rhodes in the last rankings, did not receive votes in this week's poll. SCAC has three ranked in ABCA/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III Top 30
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - Rhodes College and Millsaps College are tied for 23rd and DePauw University is ranked 27th in the first 2008 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) regular season Top 30 which was released on Tuesday. Millsaps' Abrams becomes third SCAC player this season to join 200-hit club

JACKSON, Miss. - Junior outfielder Hunter Owen homered twice and drove in six runs and senior shortstop Hunter Abrams went 4-for-6 with three RBIs and his first home run of the season to record his 200th career hit as Millsaps College outlasted No. 21 Illinois Wesleyan, 21-16, on a windy Tuesday evening at Twenty Field. Trinity's Scannell gets 300th career win

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity University won its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series with a 15-11 victory over the Southwestern University Saturday at E.M. Stevens Field. A milestone for Trinity coach Tim Scannell was established with Saturday’s win. In his 10th season at the Tigers’ helm, Scannell achieved his 300th career victory. Complete Release

Sewanee splits Doubleheader; Baker Picks up 100th Win

Rhodes' Hurd joins exclusive 200-hit club

Senior leftfielder Richard Hurd of Rhodes College collected his 200th career hit this afternoon at AutoZone Park in the bottom of the first inning of the 3-1 Lynx victory over Oglethorpe University. Hurd is the third Rhodes player to reach the 200-hit plateau and 18th in SCAC history. Rhodes College selected to win 2008 SCAC Baseball Title
SUWANEE, Ga. -
Based on voting by the head coaches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), Rhodes College is the heavy favorite to win the 2008 conference baseball championship. Coach Jeff Cleanthes' Lynx received eight of the 11 coaches’ first-place votes followed by Millsaps College with two votes and Southwestern University with the remaining first-place vote. - The SCAC had three players selected as a 2008 All-American by D3baseball.com. Senior pitcher Robert Flanagan and senior first baseman Daniel Vanaman - both of Rhodes College - along with senior outfielder Hunter Owen of Millsaps College were selected to the team. Rhodes College was among 10 schools that received votes but were just outside of the Top 30 rankings according to the
