AND DREW BIGNALL - ALL OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY
- have been selected the SCAC
Baseball Tri-Pitchers-of-the-Week for games played from Monday,

The Tiger trio of starters accomplished an extremely rare feat over the weekend,

College. Trinity has not had three consecutive shutouts since the 2002 season.
Complete-game shutouts are almost as rare for Trinity as from 2003-2005, the
Tigers only had one complete-game shutout by its pitching staff. It is also
believed to be the first time in school history that a Tiger team has had three
consecutive complete-game shutouts.
Going back to 1992, it is just the second time in league history that a SCAC
school has posted three consecutive shutouts on the same conference weekend.
Mark Alson, John Tschantz and Bill Metzinger of DePauw tossed
back-to-back-to-back complete game shutouts against Centre last season.
Oates, a junior right-hander from Huntsville, Texas, opened things up
with the seventh no-hitter in school history, holding Hendrix hitless through
the scheduled seven innings in Saturday's 4-0 game one win.
In the second game on Saturday, Huggins, a sophomore left-hander from
Atherton, Calif., had his bid for a second straight no-hitter broken up after
6.1 innings on a bouncing ball through the right side of the infield. He
finished with a one-hit shutout, allowing just two walks and striking out 10
hitters as the Tigers took the 21-0 victory.
In the series finale on Sunday (a 10-0 win for Trinity) Bignall, a
sophomore right-hander from Minneapolis, Minn., struck out nine in a two-hit
shutout in which he didn't allow a walk. He gave up just one hit in the first
and then one in the eighth to finish off a remarkable weekend for the Tiger
pitching staff.

Engineers' pitching efforts on its 4-4 spring trip. Bougrat pitched 15 innings,
allowing 11 hits with just two walks and eight strikeouts. He held the
opposition to a .193 average in wins over Ohio Northern and Milwaukee
Engineering. Senior right-hander P.J.

8-4 victory over Benedictine on Saturday. Mitchell's final line was 9.0 innings
pitched, three hits allowed, two earned runs with one walk and a whopping 12
strikeouts. Senior right-hander John Fox of Millsaps,
in
his only performance this week, guided the Majors to a win over Southwestern on
Saturday. In six innings of work, Fox gave up four runs (all one inning) on five
hits, walked one batter and struck out 11. Senior right-hander
Matt Woods of Sewanee defeated Huntingdon 9-7 on Friday to give the Tigers
their first win of the season. Woods went 8.0 innings, allowing seven hits, five
runs (four earned) while striking out two and walking four. After giving up four
runs in his first three innings of work, Woods settled down and allowed just one
run over the next five innings to allow Sewanee to pull off the come-from-behind
victory. Sophomore left-hander Robert Flanagan of Rhodes
improved to 4-0 on the season - picking up a
win in relief on Tuesday before tossing a complete-game shutout against Eureka
on Saturday. Flanagan surrendered just one hit, struck out 11 and walked only
