Hunter Owen of Millsaps College was named the league’s Offensive
Player-of-the-Year and Robert Flanagan of Rhodes College was selected the
league’s Pitcher-of-the-Year for the second consecutive year in exclusive
2007 all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) voting by the
conference’s head coaches.
In that same balloting, Austin College head coach Carl Iwasaki was named
the SCAC Coach-of-the-Year.

- John Reisig laced a two-out
RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to give the Austin College baseball
team an 8-7 lead over Millsaps College, and Andy White scored on a wild

Rhodes fifth in first NCAA
regional rankings
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -
The NCAA Division III Baseball Committee has
released this week’s Division III baseball regional rankings and Rhodes
College is fifth in the South Region. The committee has ranked the top 15
percent of teams in each region, which amounts to Central – six teams,
Mid-Atlantic – eight teams, Mideast – seven teams, Midwest – six teams,
New England – nine teams, New York – six teams, South – six teams, and
West – six teams.

Millsaps' Crawford sets NCAA
all-divisions record

Senior second baseman Nick Crawford of
Millsaps College set a NCAA career record this past weekend, surpassing
John Dano (93) of Division II Missouri Western State and Tony Hurtado (92)
of Division I San Francisco as he racked up his 96th career hit-by-pitch
in the third inning of a 10-4 Game 3 win against Hendrix on Sunday.

player in SCAC history to amass 200 hits

Ernst continued his assault on both the OU and SCAC record books, becoming
just the 14th player in SCAC history to amass 200 hits on Saturday against
Hendrix. He is currently at 204 hits, just six away from moving into the

Millsaps selected to win 2007 SCAC Baseball title
SUWANEE, Ga.
- Based on voting
by the head coaches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC),
Millsaps College is the
favorite to win the 2007 conference baseball championship. The Majors, who
shared the SCAC title with Trinity University last season, received six of
the 10 coaches’ votes. Trinity received three votes while Southwestern
University picked up the remaining vote.

Rhodes' baseball most improved team in Division III in 2006

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -
The 2006 Rhodes Baseball team was recognized
as the most improved team in Division III after posting a 28-15 record.
The Lynx had a 15 game improvement over the 2005 season.
