-- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today
its Division III All-District teams and coaches, recognizing the best
men's collegiate basketball student-athletes and coaches in the division.
Centre College head coach Greg Mason (far left) was named the
co-South District Coach-of-the-Year by his peers, and junior guard Matt
Nestheide (immediate left) was selected as First Team All-South.

elected not to seek reappointment for next year. Oestreich leaves the

(23-4) opens with Capital on Friday night in a pod hosted by College of

Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), one program swept every
major award given – the first time that has happened since the conference
began recognizing more than just Player and Coach of the Year following
the 1999-2000 season. Centre College had its best regular season finish
since the 1992-93 season and the coaches awarded the Colonels with picks
for Player- and Coach-of-the-Year as well as Newcomer- and Defensive
Player- of-the-Year.

Senior guard Joey Garcia
posted a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds in Friday's 77-56 road

sets new SCAC single-game field goal percentage mark
Senior guard Andrew Tulowitzky of Oglethorpe University
was a perfect 11 of 11
from the field in Tuesday's 87-79 victory over Piedmont, establishing a new SCAC
single-game field goal percentage mark. The performance bested the former
record of 10 of 10 set in 2000 by Sewanee's Jonathan Jarrett. Tulowitzky also tied the single-game three-point field goal mark by making 7 of
7 from beyond the arc.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -
Hendrix College got a game-high 28 points from senior guard Matt Secrease
in Friday night's 84-77 overtime victory over Rhema Bible College at the
Rhodes College Tip-Off Classic. His three-pointer with 27 seconds
remaining in regulation tied the contest and forced overtime. In the game, Secrease
became the 59th player in the SCAC era to reach the 1,000-points scored
milestone.
