Game 1 - #2 Trinity 75, #7 Hendrix 66 Seventh-seeded Hendrix College gave the second-seeded Trinity University squad all it wanted for much of the game, but in the end, the Tigers were just too much and pulled out the 75-66 victory in the first game of the 2006 SCAC Women's Basketball Tournament Friday afternoon at St. Benedict at Auburndale School. (Recap) ● (Box) Game 4 - # 4 Rhodes 65, #5 Southwestern 55 Junior center Crystal Jessee scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds and senior forward Taylor Cook had a double-double of 15 points and a season-high 14 rebounds to lead Rhodes College to a 65-55 victory over Southwestern University in the final women's quarterfinal game Friday night at St. Benedict at Auburndale. Game 5 - Centre 77, Southwestern 55 If Centre College was fatigued from its double-overtime contest the night before, it sure didn't show. Sophomore guard Matt Nestheide and junior guard Matt Jacobson combined to go 9 of 14 from three-point range and Centre shot 52.7% from the field in Saturday's 77-55 semifinal win over Southwestern University. (Recap) ● (Box) Game 6 - DePauw 74, Rhodes 54 DePauw University came out on fire, shooting 60.7% (17-28) in opening a 47-18 halftime lead and ended any chance of the tournament's eight-seed Rhodes College from advancing any further. The Lynx saw their Cinderella run end Saturday afternoon in the men's second semifinal contest as fourth-seeded DePauw earned its first-ever SCAC tournament championship appearance with the 74-54 victory. Game 5 - Trinity 73, Oglethorpe 65 Trinity University advanced to the SCAC title game for the fourth consecutive year with a hard-fought 73-65 victory over Oglethorpe University in the women's first semifinal game Saturday night at Rhodes College. (Recap) ● (Box) Game 6 - DePauw 89, Rhodes 73 Bridget Bailey and Liz Bondi each scored 18 points and Lindsay Houin followed with 14 points and matched a career high with 12 rebounds as DePauw claimed an 89-73 victory in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference semifinal.
