MEMPHIS, Tenn. - DePauw University advanced to Sunday's SCAC Women's Tournament title game with a 73-54 victory over University of the South-Sewanee Saturday night at Rhodes College.

The DU Tigers (24-3), the tournament's top seed, eventually pulled away from Sewanee, although the Tigers from Tennessee put up a fight and trailed just 34-28 at the half.

Sarah Zondor (pictured left) led the way for DePauw, scoring a game-high 21 points (19 of which came in the decisive second half) on 8 of 15 shooting, including 5 of 7 from three-point range. Jordan Cuddy followed with 14 points and Tria Yoder chipped in with 10 points.

Danielle Pettay of Sewanee had a team-high 13 points - the only UOS Tiger in double-figures. Sally Jackson, who entered the contest as Sewanee's leading scorer at 12.3 points per game, was held to just two points, but did contribute with 10 rebounds and four blocks.

Sewanee ends its first season under Dickie McCarthy with a record of 12-14.

For the second consecutive year, the SCAC women's title comes down to a match-up of Trinity and DePauw - who this season are both ranked in the top 10 nationally. The winner gets the SCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Tournament and the loser has to hold its breath for a rare and elusive Pool C bid.
