MEMPHIS, Tenn. - In the first overtime contest in SCAC Tournament history, Southwestern University's Aaron Bowser hit a jumper with 2.6 seconds left in regulation to force the extra period and the Pirates hung on for a 88-84 victory over DePauw University in Friday's nights final first-round men's game at Rhodes College.

Bowser (pictured left), who had a game-high 30 points, hit on 11 of 17 shots from the field, including 6 of 8 from three-point range. Brandon Daniels and Jared Woytasczyk had 12 points each and Jamonn Little added 11.

DePauw placed five players in double-figures, including a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds from John Gergely. Dre Smith, Jon Owens and Todd Capes each had 11 points and Matt McDonald finished with 10. The Tigers, who lost despite shooting 50.8% from the floor, finish the season with a 16-10 mark.

The telling stat of the game was Southwestern's ability to hit the three-ball. The Pirates connected on a SCAC Tournament single-game high 14 of 27 (51.9%) from long range while DePauw managed just 2 of 14 (14.3%) from beyond the arc.
