MEMPHIS, Tenn. - DePauw University jumped out to a 44-19 halftime lead and cruised to an 82-56 semifinal victory over Rhodes College Saturday at the 2005 SCAC Women's Basketball Tournament being held on the campus of Rhodes.

The Tigers shot 52.9% (18-34) in the first half as compared to 28.6% (8-28) for the Lynx and the 25-point cushion would be all DePauw would need. Rhodes played straight-up with DePauw the second half (38-37), but trading baskets with the Tigers did the Lynx no good.

Coach Kris Huffman played all 15 players that dressed and all but three of them scored. Caitlin McGonigal was the only starter that played more than 24 minutes and she led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds.

Amy Argetsinger, who at the half was announced as the SCAC Women's Player-of-the-Year, finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Argetsinger, who also won the award last season, is just the third player in SCAC women's basketball history to win consecutive Player-of-the-Year awards.

Liz Bondi chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds for DePauw, who improves to 23-4 and advances to tomorrow's championship game. For the third consecutive year, DePauw and Trinity will play for the SCAC Women's title and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

For Rhodes, who saw its season end with a 16-10 record, Ashley Farrell was high scorer with 14 points. Crystal Jessee, who finished with 11 points, was the only other Lynx in double-figures. Taylor Cook finished just short of a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds.
