MEMPHIS, Tenn. - DePauw University, the top-seeded team in the SCAC Tournament, coasted to an 80-61 victory over the No. 8 seed Millsaps College in quarterfinal action Friday evening at St. Benedict at Auburndale School.

DePauw took a 41-24 halftime lead and were never seriously threatened.

The fifth-ranked Tigers improve to 25-1 and have won their last 24 games - a school and conference record.

Senior forward Liz Bondi led three Tigers in double-figures with 20 points on 10 of 17 shooting and also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore guard Gretchen Haehl followed with 17 points - on 7 of 11 shooting - and junior guard Suzy Doughty chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.

The Tigers shot 51.4% from the floor (19-37) in the first half to open the early margin and finished the game at 43.4%. DePauw outrebounded Millsaps 53-33.

Millsaps, which ends its season at 8-17, was paced by the double-double performance of senior forward Miranda Rosar, who had 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. Senior guard Martha McDaniel led all scorers with 22 points.

DePauw advances to the semifinals and will play the winner of Rhodes College and Southwestern University. Scheduled tip-off time of the women's second semifinal contest is 7 p.m. CT at Rhodes.
