(From DePauw's website) The Tigers will face eighth-seed Rhodes which upset top-seed Trinity in the semifinals, 87-83. Tipoff for Saturday's second semifinal game is set for 3 p.m. CST. DePauw improved to 13-12 with the victory, while the Engineers finished the season at 11-15. The Engineers jumped out to an early 7-2 lead before the Tigers put together a 9-2 string to take an 11-9 advantage. After Rose-Hulman regained the lead, DePauw ran off eight straight to take the lead for good. The Tigers closed the half with six straight to go to the break with a 34-19 advantage. DePauw stretched the lead to as many as 23 in the second half with the Engineers getting no closer than 14. Alex Stewart led five DePauw double-figure scorers with 13, while Austin Brown, Stephen Schott and Mike Moore each added 11 and Todd Capes followed with 10. Munchie Muskeyvalley led Rose-Hulman with 18 followed by Jared Moore with 11. The Tigers shot 46.6 percent from the floor and
knocked down 9-of-18 three-pointer, while holding Rose-Hulman to just 38.2
percent. DePauw also held a 40-32 advantage on the boards with Capes grabbing
eight. Lorenzo Rice led the Engineers with seven boards. |
