MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Third-seeded Millsaps College held off a pesky sixth-seeded Hendrix College squad and advanced to the Saturday's semifinal round with a 77-64 SCAC tournament victory on Friday afternoon at Memphis University School.

A three-pointer by Hendrix's Matt Secrease cut Millsaps' lead to 39-36 at the break and the Warriors took the lead for the first time since the 17 minute mark of the first half on another three-pointer, this time by Michael Bennett, to make it 44-42 with 17:16 remaining.

But Millsaps (18-8) answered with a methodical 18-10 run over the next nine minutes and Hendrix could not hold serve.

All five Millsaps starters scored in double-figures, led by Rodney Rogan and Chris Sanders with 17 points each. Allen Odum added 15 points and six steals and Edrick Montgomery, despite being limited to 19 minutes because of foul trouble, posted his 10th double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Lorenzo Bailey also had 11 points.

For Hendrix, Michael Bennett ended his stellar career with a 21-point, eight-rebound effort. Andrew King followed with 20 points.

Millsaps shot a blistering 54.7% (29-53) from the floor while Hendrix hit at 42.4% (25-59), but was limited to 35.7% (10-28) in the second half.

Next up for Millsaps is a semifinal match-up against second-seeded Centre. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT at Rhodes College.
