helps to stabilize midfield play and set up the attack for
Rhodes.

the Lynx defense which recorded its sixth shutout of the season.

week.
Cowley's presence was certainly felt as she made a number of remarkable

only one goal on 25 shots this weekend. Her goal line defensive efforts have
been incredible in 2008 as she is one of the team’s best at winning fouls and 1
against 1 elimination skills.
Deines’
spectacular defensive efforts this weekend were essential in the Lynx victories
over Sewanee and Transylvania.
Both teams were extremely aggressive and hard hitting, and Deines was
able to compose the defensive unit under pressure.
Other outstanding
performances in the SCAC:
Senior
defender Kate Dobbins of DePauw
provided solid defense for the Tigers and led the team to two key wins this
week, including a 4-2 victory over Centre Saturday. Dobbins did an excellent job

Centre. Playing all minutes in both wins, solid passing and strong stick skills
allowed Dobbins to generate the attack from the backfield. Freshman defender
Jennifer Bohnert of Centre played well in two games against DePauw
University and Bridgewater College this past week as the Colonels defense
limited both opponents to a combined 13 shots and 10 penalty corners.
Sophomore back Caitlin McNaughton of Sewanee played great defense
