hiring of Eddie Garfinkle as the schools new head football
coach at a Thursday morning press conference in the T.B.
Pearson Hall of Fame Room at Bill Battle Coliseum. Garfinkle,
who spent the 2007 season as the Panther’s Defensive
Coordinator, replaces Joey Jones, who was hired to start the
University of South Alabama football program last Friday.

In exclusive voting by
the head coaches of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC),
Juan Joseph of Millsaps College was selected as the league's Offensive
Player-of-the-Year for the second consecutive season while Desmond
Hendricks of Rhodes College and Casey Younger of Millsaps split the
coaches' vote to share the league's Defensive Player-of-the-Year honor.
In the same balloting, Walter Arrington of Birmingham-Southern College was
named the SCAC Newcomer-of-the-Year and John Milazzo of Millsaps was
selected as Special Teams Player-of-the-Year. Steve Mohr of Trinity
University was selected as the league’s Coach-of-the-Year.

COLORADO SPRINGS,
Colo. - Senior running back Jeremiah Marks of DePauw, with
five rushing touchdowns in Saturday's 41-40 double-overtime

Barmore of Trinity University was selected to Don Hansen's
Football Gazette National Team of the Week based on his

Barmore enjoyed the best game of his career – and one
of the top performances in school history – in a must-win on
the road against DePauw University on Saturday, leading the
