Rose-Hulman marched 79 yards in seven plays to move within 22-20 with 5:06 remaining. Willis connected with sophomore Matt Horne on a 17-yard strike to cap a 1:09 possession.

He then led RHIT on a 31-yard, nine-play drive in the waning seconds to set up the game-winning 32-yard field goal by sophomore Aaron Wunderlich to cap the comeback with 40 seconds remaining, lifting Rose-Hulman to its first opening day victory since 1987.
