Oglethorpe's Swanick; Rhodes' Jennison earn First-Team honors

- Oglethorpe's Danny Swanick and Rhodes' John Jennison each earned GCAA/Ping First-Team All-American honors based on their performances at the nationals. , Neb. - Oglethorpe University finished fourth at the 2006 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships - the program's best-ever finish in seven trips to the national tournament. Rhodes College finished eighth, led by John Jennison who finished second among all individuals and just two shots from medalist honors. LINCOLN
, Neb. - Oglethorpe University is in fourth, 14 shots off the lead, and Rhodes College is 13 shots behind OU in a tie for sixth heading into the final round of the 2006 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. Three SCAC student-athletes are in the top 10 in the individual standings - paced by OU's Danny Swanick who is third with a three-day score of 218 (+5). He is just two shots off the lead. LINCOLN
, Neb. - Oglethorpe University shot a second-round 293 and stands in fourth place with a two-round total of 600 (+32) at the 2006 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The Petrels are just five shots off the lead. After a second-round 304, Rhodes College is in eighth place with a two-day total of 612 (+44). OU's Danny Swanick is the individual leader with a two-day score of 1-over-par (143). The competition, being contested at the Firethorn Golf Club, concludes on Thursday. NORMAN, Okla. — In the final Division III GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll of the fall season, three SCAC schools were ranked among the nation's top 20 teams.
