LINCOLN, Neb.

Oglethorpe's Danny Swanick and Rhodes' John Jennison each earned
GCAA/Ping First-Team All-American honors based on their performances
at the nationals. Oglethorpe's Joseph Lyda and Sewanee's Jerre
Maynor were named to the Third Team. Lyda was also one of six
golfers named to the All-Freshman team.

eighth at 2006 NCAA Men's Golf Championships

LINCOLN,
Neb. - Oglethorpe University finished fourth at the 2006 NCAA Division III
Men's Golf Championships - the program's best-ever finish in seven
trips to the national tournament. Rhodes College finished eighth,
led by John Jennison who finished second among all individuals and
just two shots from medalist honors. OU's Danny Swanick posted the
fourth-best score among all individuals.

LINCOLN,
Neb. - Oglethorpe University is in fourth, 14 shots off the lead, and Rhodes
College is 13 shots behind OU in a tie for sixth heading into the
final round of the 2006 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships.
Three SCAC student-athletes are in the top 10 in the individual
standings - paced by OU's Danny Swanick who is third with a
three-day score of 218 (+5). He is just two shots off the lead.
Rhodes' John Jennison is tied for fifth at 220 (+7) and OU's Joseph
Lyda is tied for eighth at 223 (+10).

LINCOLN,
Neb. - Oglethorpe University shot a second-round 293 and stands in fourth
place with a two-round total of 600 (+32) at the 2006 NCAA Division
III Men’s Golf Championships. The Petrels are just five shots off
the lead. After a second-round 304, Rhodes College is in eighth
place with a two-day total of 612 (+44). OU's Danny Swanick is the
individual leader with a two-day score of 1-over-par (143). The
competition, being contested at the Firethorn Golf Club, concludes
on Thursday.

the teams and individuals selected to participate in the 2006 NCAA
Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The championships will be
held May 8-11, at the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska, and
will be hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Third-ranked Oglethorpe
earns sixth SCAC Men's Golf title; Sewanee's Maynor shatters individual
mark
WINCHESTER, Tenn. -
Oglethorpe University, the nation's
third-ranked team, claimed its sixth SCAC
team championship in nine years and its first since 2003 with an
11-over-par 579 (287-292) to defeat runner-up DePauw University
(301-291=592; +24).

Oglethorpe remained in third place in the first GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches
Poll of the 2006 spring season. Rhodes improved from 17th to 15th and
DePauw slipped from 20th to 24th.

NORMAN, Okla.
— In the final Division III GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Poll of the fall
season, three SCAC schools were ranked among the nation's top 20 teams. Oglethorpe University,
which received one first-place vote, was ranked third, Rhodes College
was 23rd and DePauw University came in at 20th.
