JUAN JOSEPH OF MILLSAPS COLLEGE. a 6-2, 178-pound
junior quarterback from Edgard, La.,
has been named the SCAC Football Offensive
Player-of-the-Week for
games played Saturday, November 3.
Joseph
threw for 346 yards and five touchdowns on 27-of-40 passing to add
to his Millsaps career-leading total of 52 TDs and also rushed three
times for 19 yards and a score to help the Majors to a 68-6 bounce
back win at Colorado College on Saturday. The nation’s fourth-ranked
passer earned his third career 5-TD game in two seasons as a
starter, hooking up with double-digit receivers for the fifth time
in six games and throwing TD passes to four different receivers. On
the season, Joseph has thrown for 28 TDs against just five
interceptions while completing 234-of-363 passes for 2,610 yards. He
has also broken three Millsaps single-game records and six
single-season records with one regular season game remaining at
home.
Football - Defensive
RAY KLINE OF MILLSAPS
COLLEGE,
a 5-9, 186-pound senior strong safety from Vicksburg, Miss., has been selected
the SCAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played
Saturday, November 3.
Kline
picked up seven tackles, four pass
breakups, a tackle-for-loss and a 56-yard interception return for a
touchdown to pace a Millsaps defense that forced six turnovers in a
68-6 win over Colorado College on Saturday. The senior picked up his
first career interception return for a touchdown to become the
second Major to run an interception back for a score this season.
Kline is currently tied for first in the league in passes
defended with 14 and ranks second on the team with three
interceptions.
Men's Soccer - Offensive
MATT BRISENDINE OF
OGLETHORPE
UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from Birmingham, Ala., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, October 29 through Sunday, November 4.
Brisendine scored the game-winner against Birmingham-Southern
with 18 seconds remaining in double-overtime to give the Petrels a
2-1 victory over the Panthers. OU was one of just three SCAC teams
to defeat Birmingham-Southern this season. Brisendine also
added a goal in the final game of his college career in OU's 5-0
blanking of Millsaps on Sunday. Brisendine ends his stellar career
at OU with 34 career goals.
Men's Soccer

ED OHIN OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a
senior stopper from Louisville, Ky., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, October 29 through Sunday, November 4.
Ohin anchored the Colonel defense to a shutout win over
DePauw on the road over the weekend. In perhaps the best performance
of his career, Ohin anticipated DePauw’s offense and
consistently thwarted their attack. He led the defense that allowed
just two shots on goal and one corner kick. For the season, Ohin
tallied one goal for two total points.

Soccer - Offensive
JENNIFER WRAY OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder from Abilene, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 29 through Sunday, November 4.
Wray scored a pair of goals and was credited with an assist
in Trinity’s 4-0 win over Southwestern, securing the 2007 SCAC
Championship for the Tigers. Wray had her second straight
multi-goal game of the season, and the seventh of her career. It is
also the sixth game of the year that Wray has had at least
one goal and one assist in a game. For the season, Wray leads
the team in every offensive category, scoring 12 goals and 11
assists (35 total points) – including five game-winning goals. The
five game-winners tie her career-high (2005) and give her 12 in her
career.
Women's Soccer -
Defensive
ADRENNA JONES OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY,
a senior goalkeeper from Powell, Ohio, and JESSICA KOENIG OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY, a senior defender from Galveston, Texas, have been selected the SCAC
Women's Soccer Defensive Co-Players-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 29 through Sunday, November 4.
Jones, in her final
game as a DePauw Tiger, made her first collegiate start in net and
recorded a shutout in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Centre. Jones
recorded seven saves on the day.
Koenig led a stingy Tiger defense that posted a 4-0 shutout
in the SCAC-clinching win over Southwestern University on Friday
night. Koenig and her fellow defensive players gave up just
two shots in the game, and did not allow a single corner kick to the
visiting Pirates. For the season, Koenig and the Tiger
defensive unit have allowed just 12 goals in 17 games, which puts
them second in the SCAC in goals allowed and team GAA.
