Women's Cross Country
D'ANN ARTHUR OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Colleyville, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8.

Arthur
finished third overall in 18:23 at the Texas State Invitational behind two University of Texas runners. Arthur was the top D3 runner in a meet dominated by Division I runners, helping Trinity to a third-place finish - just one point behind the second-place host school Texas State.

Field Hockey - Offensive
ASHLEY FEHR OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, has been selected the SCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September 4 through Sunday, September 9.

Fehr scored the game-tying goal against Wittenberg in the eventual 2-1 win on Monday and then punched in the game-winning goal with 3:35 left in Sunday's 2-1 win over Lindenwood. Fehr, who played all 70 minutes in both contests, leads the Tigers in both goals scored (three) and points (six).

Field Hockey - Defensive
LAURA DEINES OF RHODES COLLEGE, a sophomore sweeper from Kansas City, Mo., has been selected the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.

Deines, after playing the midfield as a freshman, has stepped into the starting lineup as a sweeper and done a phenomenal job for the Lynx. This past weekend, Deines led a Rhodes defense that allowed just 11 shots in 140 minutes of play and posted two shutout victories.

Football - Offensive
JUSTIN ALEXANDER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a 5-7, 175-pound junior running back from Arlington, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Football Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, September 15.

Alexander had 194 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries (7.5 yards per carry) in Saturday's 37-21 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. Alexander's performance on Saturday represented the second-most rushing yards of his career and his fifth career game with 100 or more yards. His career best was 224 yards against Lewis & Clark College on Sept. 23, 2006. Alexander, who scored on runs of 26 and 3 yards on Saturday, has scored at least one touchdown in four consecutive games.

Football - Defensive
BRIAN MARYNOWITZ OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a 6-0, 170-pound senior defensive back from Coral Springs, Fla., has been selected the SCAC Football Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, September 8.

Marynowitz
led the Trinity defense with 12 tackles as well as two second-half interceptions as the Tigers defeated Texas Lutheran, 31-10. His second interception came late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory and keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard in the second half. After giving up 10 points in the first half, Marynowitz and the defense gave up no points in the final two quarters, forcing three turnovers and blocking a field goal attempt. Marynowitz and the TU secondary allowed Texas Lutheran just 91 total yards of passing offense. For the season, Marynowitz leads the team with 15 tackles and two interceptions, as well as picking up a fumble recovery in the first game.

Men's Soccer - Offensive
GERMAN GOMEZ OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.

Gomez led the top-ranked Tigers to pair of wins on the road last weekend, scoring two goals and recording one assist for five points. Gomez had one assist in Trinity’s win over UT-Dallas on Friday, then nailed a pair of unassisted goals against Hardin-Simmons on Saturday night - his third career multi-goal game with the Tigers. For the season, Gomez leads the team with eight total points, tallying three goals and two assists in four games. His three goals have come on just 12 shots, with one of those goals being a game-winner.

Men's Soccer - Defensive
MICHAEL ROBERTSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.

Robertson
has emerged as a solid starter on the Tigers' back line. With his height, he has dominated Trinity’s aerial defense, as well as cleaning up effectively on the ground. Robertson was instrumental in Trinity’s two road shutouts this weekend, allowing opposing offenses just four total shots on goal as the top-ranked Tigers improved to 4-0-0.

Women's Soccer - Offensive
CAROLINE VOELKEL OF RHODES COLLEGE, a senior midfielder from Covington, La., has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.

Voelkel led the Lynx in two victories over American Southwest Conference competition over the weekend - including a 2-0 upset of fourth-ranked Hardin-Simmons on Friday. Voelkel scored the game-winning goal against HSU - her second of the season - in the 38th minute on Friday night to break the Cowgirls' 33-game regular-season unbeaten streak. That streak dated back to September 9, 2005, when they were beaten by another SCAC opponent - Trinity - in overtime in Abilene. On Saturday against East Texas Baptist, Voelkel scored four goals including a first half true hat-trick (three consecutive goals) as Rhodes rolled to the 8-0 win. For the season, Voelkel has six goals and one assist to give her a SCAC-high 13 points.

Women's Soccer - Defensive
LIZZIE WRIGHT OF RHODES COLLEGE, a junior defender from Needham, Mass., has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.

Wright's stellar defensive effort over the weekend helped the Lynx to two shut-out victories over American Southwest Conference opponents. Rhodes defeated fourth-ranked Hardin-Simmons (2-0) on Friday and East Texas Baptist (8-0) on Saturday. On Friday night against HSU, Wright drew the unenviable task of marking the Cowgirl's all-America forward Amy Kuykendall and kept her from becoming a factor in the game. In addition to helping hold ETBU to just three shots on Saturday night, Wright also scored a goal on a shot from 25 yards out. The shutouts against HSU and ETBU were the Lynx' second and third of the 2007 season.

Volleyball
KAITLIN LISTOL OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior right side from Richardson, Texas, has been named SCAC Volleyball Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.

Listol
continued the blistering start to her senior campaign, averaging 5.54 kills and 3.23 digs per game as the 12th-ranked Kangaroos improved to 9-0 with four victories at the University of Dallas Invitational. Listol helped the ’Roos remain undefeated with her .512 hitting percentage, and also had team highs with 24 blocks and 11 serving aces. So far this year, Listol is leading the SCAC in both kills (5.33 kills per game) and hitting percentage (.458) and is also sixth in service aces (0.57 per game).
