Field Hockey - Defensive
ANN GUGALIARDO OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a junior goalkeeper from Louisville, Ky., has been selected the SCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 23 through Sunday, October 29.

Gugaliardo
had a phenomenal game against North Coast rival Kenyon College. She had four saves on the day and allowed just three goals off 14 shots and five defensive penalty corners.

Football - Offensive
ADAM BLANDFORD OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a 5-11, 202-pound senior running back from Middletown, Ohio, has been selected the SCAC Football Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, October 28.

Blandford
played a major role in Centre's first-ever win against DePauw in Danville, rushing for 134 yards on 26 carries (5.2 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. He also caught three passes for nine yards and threw a pass for 20 yards in the Colonels 28-24 win over the Tigers. Blandford scored the game's first touchdown, a 4-yard run, followed by a 15-yard run in the third quarter and a six-yard run with less than a minute in the game for the go-ahead score. It was his third 100+ rushing performance of the season, giving him 541 yards for the year (fourth in the SCAC). He is also fourth in the league in all-purpose yards per game (112.5 yards/game). Blandford has now rushed for 1,943 career yards, only 20 yards shy of tying Gene Scott for fourth place in school history.

Football - Defensive
BRIAN DOUGHERTY OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a 6-2, 228-pound defensive lineman from Hopkinsville, Ky., MARCUS HARRIS OF MILLSAPS COLLEGE, a 5-9, 170-pound sophomore defensive back from Vicksburg, Miss., and PATRICK HAYES OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a 6-0, 195-pound senior linebacker from Round Rock, Texas, have been selected the SCAC Football Defensive Tri-Players-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, October 28.

Dougherty
led the Centre defense with a season-high 10 total tackles, including seven solo and three assisted. Of those 10 stops, five went for a loss, including two sacks. The five tackles for loss are the most in a single-game in the SCAC since Dylan Tarr and Jake Vieck of Rose-Hulman had 6.5 and 5.5 respectively in a 30-10 victory over Millsaps on Oct. 18, 2003. Dougherty also broke up a pass in Centre's first home win against DePauw in school history. Dougherty has now tallied 37 total tackles on the year, including 15 tackles for a loss (second in the SCAC) and 4.5 sacks (tied for third in the SCAC).

Harris
, the defending SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week, had another stellar game for the Majors' defense this past weekend. Harris followed up a seven-tackle, two-interception performance in a 31-7 win over DePauw, with two pass breakups, three tackles and three interceptions in a 35-18 win at Sewanee on Saturday. For the season, Harris is the team's fourth-leading tackler (39), while leading the team in pass breakups (9) and interceptions (5), including a 49-yard interception return for a touchdown. He also has one blocked kick on the season.

Hayes recorded 10 tackles for the second week in a row on Saturday, leading Trinity to a 41-7 win over Rhodes College. He also had a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown, which was the third defensive score of the season for Trinity - all on interceptions. Hayes and the Tiger defense allowed just 184 yards of total offense in the game, which includes a meager 28 yards through the air. In the second quarter, Rhodes was putting together its best drive of the game when Hayes picked off a second down pass at his own 30-yard line and sprinted down the sideline for the score that made it 24-0. For the season, Hayes is fourth on the team with 36 tackles this season, and the interception was the second of his career - both of which were this season
.

Men's Soccer - Offensive
LOGAN EBERLY OF RHODES COLLEGE, a first-year forward from Evansville, Ind., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 23 through Sunday, October 29.

Eberly
recorded his first and second career hat tricks this weekend in wins over conference rival Millsaps College on Saturday and Rust (Miss.) College on Sunday. Against Millsaps, Eberly scored all three goals, including the game-winner in overtime to defeat the Majors 3-2. On Sunday, he recorded his second hat trick in pacing the Lynx to a 4-0 victory over Rust. Eberly is the first SCAC player since James Parks of Oglethorpe to post hat tricks in back-to-back games. Parks had three goals against LaGrange on Sept. 24, 2002 and followed that with a 4-goal performance against Huntingdon five days later. Eberly now has a team-leading 10 goals on the season to go with two assists for a total of 22 points (ninth in the SCAC).

Lewis also stepped up offensively for the Pirates, adding a goal and an assist in both games for six points on the weekend. For the season, Lewis has four goals and four assists for 12 points.

Petrakis
led the Tiger defense to wins over Oglethorpe and Sewanee over the weekend – two victories that sealed the conference championship for Trinity. In addition to holding Oglethorpe to nearly two goals below their season average, Petrakis and the defense held Sewanee scoreless for the team’s ninth shutout of the year. He also netted the game-winning goal against Sewanee, scoring the game’s only goal in the 69th minute, and sealing both the win and the SCAC title. For the season, Petrakis has three goals and two assists, and Sunday was his first game-winning goal of the season.

Cox and the defense allowed just six shots for the entire weekend, including one shot in Friday’s win over Oglethorpe. The Tigers recorded their 10th-consecutive shutout with the win over Sewanee – a game in which Cox scored her first career goal. That goal came in the final two minutes of the first half, giving Trinity an essential 2-0 cushion heading into the second period.
