Men's Swimming
JARRETT TATE OF RHODES
COLLEGE, a freshman from Decatur, Ga., has been selected the
SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets swum the week of Monday,
October 29 through Sunday, November 4.
Out of
ten DI, DII and DII schools at the 40th annual Hendrix Classic,
Tate won
the 50 yard free in a time of 21.60, as well as the 100 yard free in
a time of 48.16. In the 100 yard free, Tate was an “outside
smoker” meaning, he led and won the heat from lane eight.
Men's Diving
RYAN COOK OF
TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Katy, Texas, has been
selected
the SCAC Men's Diver-of-the-Week for meets the week
of Monday, October 29 through Sunday, November 4.
Cook won both the 1-meter (271.28) and the 3-meter (270.83)
competition against Pomona-Pitzer on Friday and repeated the feat
the following day against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Cook won
the 3-meter (271.25) and set a NCAA-qualifying score in the 1-meter
board of 266.15.
Women's
Swimming
LETA GATTON
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY,
a senior from Brownsville, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's
Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets swum the week of Monday, October 29
through Sunday, November 4.
Gatton
helped
the Trinity women to a 1-1 opening weekend. Against Pomona-Pitzer on
Friday, Gatton won the 200 freestyle (1:58.92) and the 100
freestyle (54.98) as well as swimming the lead on the winning 200
free relay team. On Saturday against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps,
Gatton again won the 200 free (1:57.98) and placed second in the
100 free (53.92) with a time that was .03 off her winning time at
the 2007 SCAC Championships. She also helped the 400 free relay team
to a second-place finish.
Women's
Diving
HAYLEY EMERICK
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a first-year diver from Portland,
Texas, has been selected
the SCAC
Women's Diver-of-the-Week for meets the week of Monday, October 29
through Sunday, November 4.
Emerick
won the 1-meter (250.80) and placed second to teammate Lindsay
Martin in the 3-meter (234.15) board competition against Pomona-Pitzer
on Friday. The following day against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps,
Emerick took second in both boards - posting a score of 218.45
in the 1-meter and 217.57 in the 3-meter competition.
