Men's Basketball
STEPHEN SCHOTT OF DEPAUW
UNIVERSITY, a 6-6, 230-pound senior
forward from Indianapolis, Ind., has been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 4through
Sunday, February 10.
Schott
averaged 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as the Tigers picked
up home wins against Rhodes and Birmingham-Southern over the
weekend. Schott, who averaged just 26.5 minutes per game in
the two games, hit on 68.2 percent of his shots from the field
(15-22) and scored the second-most points of his career with a
28-point effort against BSC. He was also 17 of 20 (85.0%) from the
free-throw line. For the season, Schott is averaging 14.0
points (14th in the SCAC) and 7.9 rebounds (fifth in the SCAC) per
game. He is leading the league in field goal percentage at 54.5%.
Women's
Basketball
ANNA FINDLEY OF OGLETHORPE
UNIVERSITY, a 5-6,
junior guard
from Hiram, Ga., has been selected the SCAC
Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday,
February 4 through Sunday, February 10.
Findley posted her first double-double of the season in a
77-61 win over Sewanee. She led three Petrels in double figures with
a game-high 23 points on 8 of 17 shooting and tied a SCAC
single-game record with 11 steals. Jenna Smith of Trinity also had
11 steals in a single game - against Centre on Jan. 11, 2004.
Findley also recorded three assists and two rebounds in 27
minutes of action as Oglethorpe improved to 9-2 in the SCAC East and
18-3 overall.
For the season, Findley is averaging 15.7 points (sixth in the
SCAC) and leads the league in steals at 4.14 thefts per contest. She
is third in the SCAC in three-point field goals made per game (2.48)
and second in free-throw percentage (87.7%).
