SCAC Players-of-the-Week (11/19/07)

Men's Basketball
ANDREW KING OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a 6-6, 200-pound junior forward from Granbury, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18.

King
tallied game-highs in both points and rebounds in both games this weekend as the Warriors posted wins against Rhema Bible (90-77 in overtime) and Westminster (69-45) at the third annual Cliff Garrison Classic at Hendrix. King had 33 points and 13 boards on Friday against Rhema Bible and 15 points and nine boards the following afternoon against Westminster (Mo.). He sank 18 of 28 shots from the field (64.3%) and averaged 24.0 points and 11.0 rebounds for the tournament.

Women's Basketball
MEGHAN SCHOLBE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a 5-9, senior forward from Centennial, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18.

Scholbe led the Tigers to two victories at the Trinity Tip-Off Tournament over the weekend, averaging 19.0 points and 14.0 rebounds for the two games. Scholbe hit 13 of 18 (.722) attempts from the field and 11 of 12 (.917) from the free throw line, and also averaged 3.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game at the tournament. On Saturday against UT-Dallas, she scored a career-high 27 points to go with a career-best 20 rebounds to lead the team. Then on Sunday, she finished with 11 points and eight boards, and was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player. Last season, Scholbe was second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She led the Tigers with 73 steals (2.92 per game), hitting 43.1% (112-260) from the field.

Men's Swimming

ROBERT ALEXANDER OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a senior from Gahanna, Ohio, has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets swum the week of Monday, November 12 through Sunday, November 18.

Alexander won the both the 50 and 100 fly at DePauw's dual meet against Wheaton and Transylvania - swimming times of 21.33 and a 52.84 respectively. Alexander also split a 21.02 on the Tigers' winning 200 free relay. On Saturday at the Wabash Invitational, Alexander won the 50 fly with a 21.55 and the 100 fly with a 51.65. He finished second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.01.


Men's Diving
SETH DAVES OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a first-year diver from Magnolia, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Diver-of-the-Week for meets the week of Monday, November 12 through Sunday, November 18.

Daves won both boards at the double dual against Austin College and Incarnate Word. He took the 1-meter in a NCAA qualifying score of 273.15 and the 3-meter with a score of 241.20. At the SCAC meet the following day, Daves took fourth in the 1-meter (235.85) and second in the 3-meter (239.15).


Women's Swimming
CALLIE BOEHME OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a first-year swimmer from Memphis, Tenn., has been selected the SCAC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets swum the week of Monday, November 12 through Sunday, November 18.

Boehme won the 1650 freestyle at the nine-team Wabash Invitational with a new school-record time of 17:55.21. She defeated senior Ellie Miller of University of Indianapolis by 13 seconds. Miller was a Division II All-American and runner-up at the 2005 NCAA Division II National Championships.
