Basketball
RODNEY ROGAN OF MILLSAPS COLLEGE, a 6-5
junior forward from
Houston, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's
Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, January 8
through Sunday, January 14.
Rogan put in his best back-to-back efforts of the season this
past weekend while helping the Majors to a 2-0 record in SCAC play.
With the victories, Millsaps finds itself in a tie for first place
in the league standings alongside Centre and DePauw. Rogan
averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in wins over
Oglethorpe and Sewanee. He had a team-high 17 points on 5 of 8
shooting in Friday's 78-76 victory over Oglethorpe and poured in a
season-high 21 points on 10 of 18 shooting in the Majors' 77-69 win
on Sunday. He shot 57.7% (15-26) from the field for the week. For
the season, Rogan is second on the team with 13.5 points per
game (13th in the SCAC) (13.5) and 4.9 rebounds per game (19th in
the SCAC). He is shooting 48.7% from the field (15th in the SCAC)
and 67.2% from the charity stripe (13th in the SCAC).

Basketball
ANNA FINDLEY OF
OGLETHORPE UNIVERSITY,
a 5-6 sophomore guard from Hiram, Ga., has been selected the SCAC
Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from
Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14.
Findley had a good weekend as the Petrels won two SCAC games
on the road. In Friday's 71-53 win over Millsaps, Findley
recorded a game high 21 points to go along with five steals, three
rebounds and two assists. On Sunday against Rhodes, she notched a
double-double - the first of her career - with 17 points and 11
rebounds. For the weekend, Findley averaged 19.0 points, 7.0
rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 block per game. She made
57.7% (15-26) of her shots from the field, including 6 of 11 (54.5%)
of her three-point field goal attempts.
For the season, Findley is averaging 12.8 points (tied for
ninth in the SCAC) and is fifth in the league in free throw
percentage (81.3%) and seventh in three-point field goal percentage
(43.4%). She is also 14th in assists per game (2.38) and ninth in
steals per game (2.06).
Men's Swimming
JIMMY TATGENHORST OF CENTRE
COLLEGE, a
sophomore from Knoxville, Tenn.,
has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets
swum the week of Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14.
Tatgenhorst
was part of three winning relay teams and also won
the 50-yard freestyle (22.46), the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.62) and
the 100-yard freestyle (48.75) at the Centre College Colonel
Classic. Tatgenhorst was a member of each of the following
relay teams that finished first in the 200-yard free relay
(1:30.52), the 200-yard medley relay (1:41.89) and the 400-yard free
relay. Centre's time of 1:41.89 in the 200-yard medley relay
established a new pool record, breaking the previous mark of
1:42.54.
Men's Diving
HUNTER HAYES OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a first-year diver from
Hopkinsville, Ky., has been selected the SCAC Men's
Diver-of-the-Week for meets the week of Monday, January 8 through
Sunday, January 14.
Hayes won the Centre College Colonel Classic with a score of
253.80 on the 1-meter board. Hayes is just a couple of weeks
removed from surgery to repair a punctured eardrum.

Swimming
MEREDITH
ANGEL OF CENTRE
COLLEGE, a
first-year swimmer
from Campbellsville, Ky.,
has been selected the SCAC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets
swum the week of Monday, January 8 through Sunday, January 14.
Angel
had a big weekend at the Centre College Colonel
Classic, taking part in all three winning relay teams as well as
winning two individual events. Along with the relay wins, Angel
won the 50-yard freestyle (25.23) and the 100-yard breaststroke
(1:11.63). Centre won the 200-yard free relay (1:43.17), the
400-yard medley relay (4:11.34) and the 200-yard medley relay
(1:57.58). The Colonels' time in the 200-yard free relay broke the
previous pool record of 1:43.59.
