SCAC Players-of-the-Week (12/4/06)

Men's Basketball
STEPHEN SCHOTT OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a 6-6, 230-pound junior post from Indianapolis, Ind., has been selected the SCAC Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 27 through Sunday, December 3.

Schott hit on 10 of 17 field goals en route to 25 points in the Tigers' 73-67 victory over Centre on Saturday. In the SCAC-opener for both teams, he also had five rebounds. In Tuesday's 92-82 victory over Wabash, Schott had 18 points and six rebounds and hit on 6 of 12 shots from the field. For the week, Schott averaged 21.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and sank 55.2% (16-29) of his shots from the field. Schott is currently tied for third in the SCAC in scoring, averaging 19.3 points per game and is fourth in rebounding with 8.3 boards per game. He is shooting 57.5% from the floor (seventh in the SCAC).


Women's Basketball
LIZ BONDI OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a 5-10 senior forward from Park Ridge, Ill., has been selected the SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, November 27 through Sunday, December 3.

Bondi had 30 points in just 21 minutes of play, hitting on 11 of 12 shots from the floor, in Saturday's 101-48 victory over Centre. Bondi, who was a perfect 8 of 8 from the free-throw line, also had three rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block in the seventh-ranked Tigers' only game of the week.
For the season, Bondi is averaging 16.7 points (fifth in the SCAC) and 5.8 rebounds (14th in the SCAC) per game. She is shooting a league-best 65.6% from the field and 80.0% from the free throw line (tied for seventh in the SCAC).

Men's Swimming
KURT ADKINS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a sophomore from Mesa, Ariz., and STEVE KLABAK OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a first-year swimmer from Mazomanie, Wis., have been selected the SCAC Men's Co-Swimmers-of-the-Week for meets swum the week of Monday, November 27 through Sunday, December 3.

Adkins
swam to five wins this weekend, helping Colorado College come back to defeat McMurry University on Saturday, after a close loss to the same team on the night before. Adkins won the 100 fly on Friday and the 50 free, 200 fly and 400 freestyle relay on Saturday against McMurry. He also won the 200 fly on Saturday against Div II opponent Metro State. He swam season-best times in 50 free, 100 fly, 100 breast and 200 butterfly.

Klabak posted life time best times in every event he swam except for one at the DePauw Invitational. He went for lifetime best in the 50 free at 22.03, 100 free at 48.30, 50 back at 56.30 and 200 back at 2:03.41. In addition, Klabak set two lifetime relay split best bringing both relays back for a victory. He posted a 47.34 bringing the 400 medley A team back from behind and 1:50.55 on the 800 free relay.


Men's Diving
RYAN COOK OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY
, a junior from Katy, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Diver-of-the-Week for meets the week of Monday, November 27 through Sunday, December 3.

Cook
was a double event winner at the Wabash College Diving Invitational on December 1 and 2. Cook scored 434.90 on the 1-meter and 425.25 on 3-meter, topping team-mate Travis Mills twice as Trinity finished 1-2 in both events.

Women's Swimming
KATIE DOOGAN OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a junior from Athens, Mich., has been selected the SCAC Women's Swimmer-of-the-Week for meets swum the week of Monday, November 27 through Sunday, December 3.

Doogan
won three individual events at the DePauw Invitational. She won the 200 IM with a NCAA Division III B qualifying standard of 2:10.35, setting a new school record as well as a meet record. Additionally, Doogan won the 200 backstroke (2:10.40) and the 400 IM (4:42.27) and was a member of three victorious relay teams.


Women's Diving
AVERY MACKENZIE OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Concord, N.H., and LAUREN WALSTAD OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Katy, Texas, have been selected the SCAC Women's Co-Divers-of-the-Week for meets the week of Monday, November 27 through Sunday, December 3.

MacKenzie
garnered five wins over two days this weekend, scoring personal bests on both the 1- and 3-meter boards. On Friday, MacKenzie won both boards against both McMurry and Metro, as well as a 3-meter win against McMurry on Saturday.

Walstad finished first on both the 1-meter (408.40 points) and on 3-meter (443.10) boards at the Wabash College Diving Invitational in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Along with teammates Lindsay Martin and Jennifer Parker, Trinity led the women's field with a 1-2-3 finish on the 3-meter board and almost equaled that feat with a 1-2-4 finish on the 1-meter board. In addition, Walstad achieved the NCAA entry score while taking top honors in the 3-meter competition.
