ANDREW KING OF HENDRIX
COLLEGE, a 6-6, 195-pound
junior post from Granbury, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's
Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, December 4
through Sunday, December 10.
King
led Hendrix his week with 31
points in a win over Central Baptist - the team's long game of the
week. The win was the fifth straight for the Warriors, the team's
longest winning streak since the 1996-97 season. King also
had eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and no turnovers and
shot 57.1% (12-21) from the floor and 70.0% (7-10) from the
free-throw line.
For the season,
King is 11th in the SCAC in scoring, averaging 14.4
points per game and is seventh in rebounding (6.10 per game) and eighth
in steals (1.63 per game).

KRISTA PRATO MATTHEWS OF
TRINITY
UNIVERSITY,
a 6-0 sophomore post from Davis, Calif., has been selected the SCAC
Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from
Monday, December 4 through Sunday, December 10.
Prato Matthews
had a season-high 18 points and 14 rebounds – tying her career-best
mark in rebounds – as the Tigers defeated Texas Lutheran 89-50 on
Tuesday night at Sams Gymnasium. She came off the bench to connect
on 8 of 10 field goals and both free throw attempts in just 22
minutes of play. Of Prato Matthews' 14 rebounds, six were on
the offensive end, and she also added two blocks and two steals in
the game. For the season, Prato Matthews is fourth on the
team in scoring, averaging 8.2 points per game. She is also second
on the team with 43 rebounds (7.2 per game) and leads the team with
13 blocks (2.2 per game). She is shooting 42.6% from the field -
hitting 20 of 47 shots this season.
