Senior midfielder Daniel Webb of Southwestern had his best

Sophomore forward Andres Colocho of Millsaps picked up five points off a
pair of goals - his second and third of the season - and an assist to help lead
the Majors to a 3-2 win over the visitors from Hendrix on Sunday. His first
goal in the 44th minute knotted the game at 1-1 while his assist to teammate
Todd Schneck in the 75th minute off a perfect cross proved to be the eventual
game-winner. The win also gave Millsaps its second league win for the first
time since 1999. In a very emotional night, which saw $5,300 donated in the
name of Sue Hauck and Elizabeth Walter to the Susan G. Komen Foundation,
senior outside midfielder Robby Crump of Centre scored the game-winning
goal and gave the Colonels the 3-2 overtime victory over Austin College. Just
over five minutes into the overtime period, Crump, whose mother Sue Hauck
passed away earlier this fall from breast cancer, hit the game-winner on a
diving header. The goal the first in the senior’s career and could not have
created at a more magical moment. For the season, Crump added the one goal to
his two assists for four total points. Junior forward Logan Boccard of
Colorado College scored a pair of goals, including his team-leading third
game-winning goal of the season, as the Tigers extended their winning streak to
four matches with a 3-0 victory at 25th-ranked Centre on Friday. It was

The victory on Sunday was Millsaps' first SCAC win in 16 matches dating back to
2005.
Milner now has 67 saves on the year, averaging just over 7.4 saves per
game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior goalkeeper John
Fenley of DePauw recorded one save in Wednesday's 1-0 shutout win over
Rose-Hulman, and played the first half of Saturday's 6-0 shutout win over
Franklin. First-year defender Austin Pyhrr of Rhodes played 180 minutes
and exhibited strong defensive play in two SCAC wins over the weekend.
Senior midfielder Kyle Altman of Trinity
led the Tiger defense to a 2-1 win over Texas
Lutheran in the team’s only game last week. Altman scored a goal on a penalty
kick in the 37th minute, giving Trinity a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Altman also led a defense that gave up just seven shots in the game. For the
season, Altman has scored two goals and recorded three assists. Altman and the
Tiger defense lead the SCAC with just five goals allowed this season.
Senior defender John Templeton of Centre College
led the 20th-ranked Colonel
defense to a road victory over Maryville (Tenn.) over the weekend. Templeton
dominated first and second balls, and his aggressive play consistently stifled
Maryville’s penetrating attack.
Austin, Colorado College,
Hendrix, Oglethorpe, Sewanee
and Southwestern
did not nominate anyone for the award.
WEEK 4
SCAC Men's
Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week
(For
matches played Monday, Sept. 17th through Sunday, Sept. 23rd)
MATT HOSKINS OF CENTRE COLLEGE,
a senior forward from Lexington, Ky., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from
Monday, September 17 through Sunday, September 23.
Hoskins had a breakout performance, leading the #23-ranked Colonels to a
pair of victories on the road. Hoskins scored three goals including both
game-winners and tallied one assist for seven points on the weekend.
On Friday at Hendrix, Hoskins put the Colonels ahead early with a
one-time finish into the corner just two minutes into the match. Then in
overtime, he scored the golden goal just 1:10 into the first period to give the
Colonels the win. On Sunday at Rhodes, Hoskins assisted the third goal
and scored the game-winning fourth goal to extend Centre’s record to 7-1-1 and
2-0 in the SCAC.
For the season, Hoskins leads the team with 13 total points tallying
five goals and three assists.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Ben Grossman of Trinity led a Tiger offense that scored 11
goals over the weekend, defeating both Millsaps and Birmingham-Southern in a
pair of SCAC road games over the weekend. Grossman scored his first two goals
this season in the second half against Millsaps, netting consecutive goals that
came less than three minutes apart. Against Birmingham-Southern, Grossman
secured Trinity’s win with the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute of the
game. Grossman’s header came off “like a bullet” on a cross to the far post, as
he beat two defenders in the air to score the goal. Grossman’s three goals were
the only points he has scored this season, and they match his goals output from
last year.
Junior
forward/midfielder Mike Harris of DePauw scored the Tigers' first goal in a
4-1 win at Rhodes. Harris scored one goal and assisted on another in Sunday's
3-1 win at Hendrix. His assist came on the game-winner with just 4:12
remaining.
Sophomore forward Trevor Cobb of Colorado College scored his second
game-winning goal of the season and the third of his career in Friday's 3-0
victory over Nebraska Wesleyan. Cobb leads the team with five goals and 12
points and averages a team-high 4.25 shots a game. Colorado College is 5-0 when
Cobb records at least a point. Junior defender Josh Spencer of Southwestern
opened the scoring for
the Pirates against Birmingham-Southern with an unassisted goal to tie the game
at 1-1. Two days later against Millsaps, Spencer scored what became the
game-winning goal during the 11th minute by beating the keeper to the lower
left corner. Just 15 minutes later, he made the score 2-0 in favor of SU with
his third goal in as many days. Spencer now leads the team with five goals and
is tied for fifth for most goals scored in the conference. Austin,
Hendrix, Millsaps, Oglethorpe, Rhodes and
Sewanee
did not nominate anyone for the award.
SCAC Men's
Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week
(For matches
played Monday, Sept. 17th through Sunday, Sept. 23rd)
THOMAS OWENS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY,
a senior defender from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, September 17 through Sunday, September 23.
Owens
led the top-ranked Tigers to two SCAC wins on the
road last weekend, defeating both Millsaps and Birmingham-Southern.
Against Millsaps on Friday, Owens led a defense that gave up just two
total shots – neither of which was on goal. On Sunday, Owens led a back
line that allowed just two shots on goal against Birmingham-Southern – one of
which came on a penalty kick. That PK was the only goal allowed this past
weekend as Owens directed the team to 180 minutes without allowing a
goal during regular play.
For the season, Owens leads the defense that ranks number one in the
SCAC in goals allowed, yielding just four goals in eight games played.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior sweeper Matt Sampson of Colorado College led the Tigers to a pair
of shutouts over the weekend, the team's third and fourth of the season.
Colorado College turned in a pair of stellar defensive efforts, allowing only
five shots on goal and 12 total shots in the two games as the team lowered its
goals-against-average to 0.85 for the season.
Senior defender Nick Dascoli
of DePauw led a Tiger defense which allowed just two goals in DePauw's two
wins. Tiger opponents totaled just 18 shtos and five corners on the weekend.
Junior defender Kevin O'Neil of Southwestern had a good weekend for the
Pirates as he scored the first goal of his career against Birmingham-Southern
on a breakaway to put SU ahead 3-2 with less than nine minutes left in the
game. The following game against Millsaps, O’Neil put forth a very strong
effort in shutting out the Majors 4-0. The Pirates’ defense allowed just four
total shots and helped the team to a 1-0 start in conference play.
Junior defender Adam Boyer of Centre
anchored the defense for all
180 minutes, leading the #23-ranked Colonels to two victories in SCAC play over
the weekend. Boyer, a captain and Third Team All-South Central Region player in
2006, was dominant in the air on set-pieces and consistently played dangerous
balls that created scoring opportunities on the offensive end. Austin,
Hendrix, Millsaps, Oglethorpe, Rhodes and
Sewanee
did not nominate anyone for the award.
WEEK 3
SCAC Men's
Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week
(For

Judah had a brilliant
weekend for the Colonels, scoring the game-winning goal in each of the team's
two matches.
On Friday against Heidelberg, Judah created a breakaway off a
throw in and converted the only goal of the match at the 18:38 mark. Then on
Saturday, he converted a composed finish on another breakaway just 1:40 into
the match and paced the offense to a 2-0 victory over regionally-ranked Wittenberg.
The goal was
Judah’s team-leading fourth of the season.
A second team All-SCAC and third
team all-South Central Region selection last year, Judah finished fifth in the
SCAC and led the Colonels with 12 goals.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:

recorded the eventual
game-winning goal in the 28th minute in a 2-0 win over Huntingdon College along

College. Colocho is now tied with Aaron Hyatt for the team lead in overall
points with five (1 goal, 3 assists).

(Ala.) Sunday in Montgomery. His penalty kick put Sewanee ahead 2-0 and then
his inside goal iced the victory for the Tigers. Austin,
Colorado College, DePauw, Hendrix, Rhodes and
Southwestern
did not nominate anyone for the award, and Oglethorpe did not play.

Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week
(For matches
played Monday, Sept. 10th through Sunday, Sept. 16th)

JAKE MILNER OF MILLSAPS COLLEGE,
a senior goalkeeper from Flowood, Miss, have been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Defensive Co-Players-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, September 10 through Sunday, September 16.
Both keepers posted back-to-back shutouts this weekend and led their teams to
2-0 marks.
Creger
recorded two shutouts and 10 saves in
earning two victories for the Colonels as the team improved to 5-1-1. On
Saturday night with less than five minutes to play and trailing 1-0, Wittenberg
was given a penalty kick. Creger rose to the occasion - catching the PK
and initiating a counter-attack that the Colonels converted with a goal to seal
the victory.
Creger, who was a Third Team All-SCAC selection last year, recorded
seven shutouts and an 0.88 goals against average in 2006 as part of the
top-rated defense in the SCAC.
Milner posted the
fifth and sixth shutouts of his career in a pair of wins on Friday and Sunday

Milner picked
up six saves on the weekend to improve to 2-3 between the posts with a .706
save percentage.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Thomas Owens of Trinity led a Tiger defense that
allowed just five shots on goal in 180 minutes of action over the weekend,
including a shutout of 11th-ranked Washington (Mo.) University on Saturday
night. Owens and the defense gave up just two total shots on Friday against
Methodist, with the goal coming after Trinity had built up a 6-0 lead. On
Saturday, the defense allowed just 10 shots to a nationally-ranked team, with
only four of those shots being on target. For the season, Owens has led the
defense to three shutouts in six games, allowing just one goal in the other
three games. Only 17 shots have been on goal against the Tigers all year long.
Senior goalkeeper Dave Kluen of Colorado College
recorded his 15th career shutout and second of the season in Saturday’s 5-0
victory over Kalamazoo College. He was also in goal for CC’s 2-1 victory over
Cal State East Bay on Sunday. He stopped eight of nine shots on the weekend,
with the only goal coming on a penalty kick. Khuen lowered his goal-against
average to 1.15 and improved his saves percentage to .778.

three goals and two assists in four games. His three goals have come on just 12
shots, with one of those goals being a game-winner.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defender Kyle Strine of Southwestern had a big week
for SU, netting two goals and assisting on two others as the Pirates posted a
2-1 week. Strike scored his second goal of the season on Wednesday in the
Pirates’ 2-0 shutout of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Two days later when Southwestern
took on Hardin-Simmons, the senior had a huge day. He had a hand in every goal
for SU, scoring on a penalty kick and assisting on the other two as the Pirates
won 3-1.
Sophomore forward Alex Dawson of
Austin scored three times in two
games as the 'Roos dropped a pair of heartbreakers to East Texas Baptist and
LeTourneau over the weekend. In a 3-2 loss to ETBU, Dawson scored twice in the
second half and nearly found the net a third time in a comeback bid that fell
just short, and he scored the lone Austin College goal in a 2-1 defeat at the
hands of LeTourneau.
Junior forward Logan Boccard
of Colorado College
recorded the first
two-goal game of his career and first game-winning goal during Sunday’s 9-1
victory over Whittier College. His five points also were a personal single-game
high. Boccard also assisted on CC’s second goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to
Willamette University. He currently leads the team with six points, is tied for
the lead with two goals and is second with two assists. Senior midfielder

opportunities on the attack. On Friday against Wilmington, Baumann scored his
first goal of the season capping off a brilliant passing sequence with a
composed finish into the back side netting. Hendrix,
Oglethorpe, Rhodes and Sewanee did not nominate anyone for
the award.
SCAC Men's
Soccer

MICHAEL ROBERTSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY,
a junior defender from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, September 3 through Sunday, September 9.
Robertson has
emerged as a solid starter on the Tigers' back line. With his height, he has
dominated Trinity’s aerial defense, as well as cleaning up effectively on the
ground.
Robertson was instrumental in Trinity’s two road shutouts this weekend,
allowing opposing offenses just four total shots on goal as the top-ranked
Tigers improved to 4-0-0.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior defender Joseph Fisher of Centre
had a strong performance for
the Colonels over the weekend. Fisher consistently shut down opponents for
nearly 240 minutes in a pair of overtime games. Senior defender Frank Abene

JEREMY RIELLEY OF DEPAUW
UNIVERSITY, a
senior midfielder from Evanston, Ill., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday, August 31 through
Sunday, September 2.
Rielley scored five goals in wins over Wabash (3-0) and Holy Cross (7-0)
as DePauw opened 2-0 for the first time since the 2003 season.
Rielley had two goals in the first half against in-state rival Wabash
and found the back of the net three times in the match's first 18 minutes in
Saturday's win against Holy Cross.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior forward
Brandon Gish of Centre
had a brilliant start to his senior
campaign, notching back-to-back goals in Centre’s 4-3 victory over 21st-ranked
Ohio Northern. Gish demonstrated his superior pace to the Polar Bear defense,
finishing on two through balls less than three minutes apart. Then on Sunday,
Gish and the Colonels out-matched Hanover College in a lopsided 3-1 victory.
Centre controlled much of the match out-shooting the Panthers 17-4 to go along
with a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks. The win brings the Colonel’s record to
2-0 on the year.
Junior forward Patrick Floeck of Trinity scored three goals on just six
shots during the season-opening weekend, helping Trinity to wins over Whitworth
and Pacific Lutheran. He scored the first goal in each game, as well as two
goals against Pacific Lutheran. It was the fifth multi-goal game of his career.
Floeck led the team with 11 goals last season, and finished second on the team
with nine goals in nine goals. First-year midfielder Mac Barnes of Hendrix
scored two goals and had one assist this week in the Warriors' first two
contests. Barnes scored the second goal in the Warriors' 2-0 shutout of East
Texas Baptist and assisted their first goal and scored the second in their 5-2
loss to Louisiana College. Barnes' two goals came off of just five shots, all
of which were on goal. He came in off the bench for both matches. Sophomore
forward Aaron Hyatt of Millsaps
delivered the game-tying goal in the Majors’ 3-1
season-opening loss to Principia (Ill.), scoring in the 13th minute on
goalkeeper Dana Byquist. Hyatt fired two shots for the game, finding the back
of the net off an assisted ball from teammate Andres Colocho. The sophomore
recorded the fourth goal of his career, after tying for second on the team last
season in goals with three. Junior midfielder Miles Vaughn of
Austin was at the heart
of virtually every Austin College attack from his midfield position, taking
shots himself and setting up his teammates for several of the 16 attempts in
the game against the University of Dallas. Colorado College, Hendrix,
Oglethorpe, Rhodes, Sewanee and Southwestern did not nominate anyone for
the award.
SCAC Men's
Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week
(For matches
played Friday, Sept. 1st through Monday, Sept. 4th)
NICK DASCOLI OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY,
a senior defender from Indianapolis, Ind., has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer
Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Friday, August 31 through Sunday, September 2.
Dascoli spearheaded the defensive effort that resulted in two shutouts
over the weekend for the Tigers.
DePauw's opponents recorded just five shots combined in the two contests.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior sweeper Adam Boyer of Centre anchored the Colonel defense in a
pair of wins over the weekend. On Friday night, Boyer and the Colonels
consistently thwarted the set-piece attack of the 21st-ranked Ohio Northern
Polar Bears to come through with the 4-3 victory. Then on Sunday, Boyer, a
captain and Third Team All-South Central Region player in 2006, scored the
game-winning goal against Hanover College to bring the Colonel’s record to 2-0.
Boyer and the Centre defense limited the Panthers to just four shots and one
corner kick on the day. Senior defender Will Maddox of Trinity helped
the Tigers to wins over Whitworth and Pacific Lutheran to open the season.
Maddox has not been a regular starter on the Tiger back line in any of his
first three seasons, but put forth a standout effort this weekend. He held off
a late onslaught from Whitworth, who tried desperately to tie the game in the
final minutes, and played an outstanding overall game against Pacific Lutheran.
Sophomore keeper Nate Noel of Austin
had an outstanding season debut for the ’Roos, stopping seven shots and making
several other big plays in a scoreless double overtime draw against the
University of Dallas. Noel made several game-saving plays, perhaps most notably
in the 88th minute when he batted down what looked to be a sure fire goal on a
header and managed to cover up the ball just before it could cross the goal
line. Junior goalkeeper Ryan Tasin of Southwestern
went 1-0 this past weekend, recording the 2-1 win against Pacific Lutheran
University on Saturday. The junior goalie stopped six shots to preserve the
victory. On Sunday, Tasin played the second half and both overtime periods as
the Pirates shutout Whitworth University for a 0-0 tie. In total, Tasin faced
11 shots on goal and stopped 10 of them.
Senior goalkeeper Jake Milner of
Millsaps
showed signs of
promise in the net for the Majors. Milner picked up four saves in the
season-opener before a nine-save performance in a 3-0 loss to Washington
University (Mo.) on Sunday. The Bears scored all three goals in the second
half. Colorado
College, Hendrix,

the award.
