GENEVA, N.Y. - The Tiger women's soccer team fought hard in the NCAA Semifinals at William Smith College, but lost 3-1 on penalty kicks, ending Trinity's season.

SUWANEE, Ga.
- Senior midfielder Erica Adelstein and first-year forward Margot Tarrillion, both of Trinity University, were selected as SCAC Player and Freshman-of-the-Year respectively, and Margot Burns of The University of the South-Sewanee was tabbed as the conference’s Coach-of-the-Year in exclusive all-conference voting by the league’s head coaches.

Trinity women in National Quarterfinals
Tigers to host on Saturday
DALLAS, Texas
- The Trinity women's soccer team is headed to the NCAA Division III National Quarterfinals  for the third time in four years. The TU Tigers defeated Emory (Ga.) University 2-0 in the Region semifinal on Saturday and then defeated the host school University of Texas-Dallas 1-0 on Sunday to advance.

In the round of eight, Trinity (20-1-0) will host
University of Puget Sound (Wash.) (17-2-1) either on Saturday in San Antonio, at 7 p.m. CT.

Trinity women take 10th SCAC title in 11 years;
begin NCAA play Saturday at UT-Dallas
Despite its No. 11 ranking, DePauw left out of NCAA Tourney
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The third-ranked Trinity women's soccer team earned a bye and will be traveling to Dallas to take on the winner of Savannah College of Art & Design and Emory (Ga.) University in the region semifinal of the 2002 NCAA Division III playoffs.

That semifinal match-up will be played on Saturday on the campus of University of Texas-Dallas at 5 p.m. On the other side of the bracket, host school UT-Dallas will face the winner of Washington & Lee (Va.) University and Greensboro (N.C.) College, following Trinity’s match on Saturday. The region final is set for Sunday.

Trinity University women's soccer team (18-1-0) remained third in this week's NSCAA Division III national rankings. After locking up a bid to the NCAA Tournament last week, the Tigers clinched the outright SCAC championship with a 4-0 shutout of Southwestern University on Saturday. In its nine conference matches, Trinity outscored its opponents 44-0. 

DePauw University (13-4-1) recorded its 11th shutout of the season with a season-ending 2-0 blanking of Rose-Hulman. With the win, DePauw will finish the regular season as the nation's 11th-ranked team. Of the nation's top 15 ranked teams, only DePauw and #9 Willamette (Ore.) University did not receive a bid to NCAA Championships. (Full story)

Trinity University women's soccer team (17-1-0) remained third in this week's NSCAA Division III national rankings. The Tigers clinched at least a share of the SCAC championship and also locked up the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament in sweeping two SCAC games this past weekend. The Tigers defeated Centre 6-0 on Friday and blanked Sewanee 4-0 on Sunday. In its eight conference matches, Trinity has outscored its opponents 40-0. 

DePauw University (12-4-1) moved from 18th to 12th in the rankings while picking up its ninth and 10th shutouts of the season - defeating Rhodes 5-0 on Friday and Hendrix 2-0 on Sunday. (Full story)

By sweeping its matches this past weekend, Trinity University locked up at least a share of the SCAC Women's Soccer title and also secured the program's eighth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

DePauw University (10-4-1), which split non-conference matches with Illinois Wesleyan (2-1 loss) and Principia (4-0 win) dropped from 12th to 18th. (Full story)

Trinity University women's soccer team made the biggest move in this week's NSCAA Division III national rankings, jumping from 15th to seventh. The TU Tigers defeated Austin College 10-0 on Friday and University of Texas at Dallas 3-0 on Sunday. DePauw University remained at 10th for the second consecutive week after defeating Wittenberg 1-0 on Saturday and Earlham 9-0 on Sunday. (Full story)

In the first NSCAA Division III women's soccer national rankings, two SCAC schools are ranked in the top-15. DePauw University which defeated Wisconsin-Oshkosh 4-2 and tied 14th-ranked Macalester 1-1, sits at 10th. Trinity University defeated SCAD 5-3 before falling to fifth-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point 1-0 and is ranked 15th. (Full story)
