Emily Cline has been named interim Head Softball Coach for the
Sewanee Tigers, according to Mark Webb, Sewanee's athletic
director. Cline's appointment follows the resignation of Coach
Heather Windham.

Rodriguez named
Millsaps head softball coach

Miss. -
Millsaps College has announced the hiring of Roland Rodriguez as
its new softball coach for the upcoming 2007 season. Rodriguez
comes to Millsaps after six seasons as the head coach at Trinity
University – also a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference – in San Antonio, Texas.

Texas - Trinity University Director of Athletics Bob King has announced the
appointment of Nicole Dickson as the Tigers’ head softball coach.
Dickson, a former Trinity standout, has been an assistant coach

2006 All-SCAC Softball Team
SUWANEE, Ga. -
In
exclusive 2006 all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC)
voting by the league’s head coaches, Carolyn Bartlett of DePauw
University was selected the conference’s Offensive
Player-of-the-Year and Erin Mulvey of Trinity University was
tabbed as Pitcher-of-the-Year for the second consecutive season.
In that same balloting, Trinity head coach Roland Rodriguez was
voted SCAC Coach-of-the-Year.

Teams
STARKVILLE,
Miss. - Six
SCAC student-athletes were selected All-Region in results released
by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Ashley Montgomery
of Rose-Hulman and Carolyn Bartlett of DePauw were named to the
Central Region First Team and Trinity's Erin Mulvey was selected
to the West Region First Team. Rachel Gill of DePauw was a Second
Team selection and Jennifer Pint of Rose-Hulman and Melissa
Johnson of Trinity were Third Team selections.

Trinity heads to Redlands for
NCAA Tourney
REDLANDS, Calif.

Fourth-seeded Trinity University (29-12) will take on fifth-seeded
University of La Verne (30-10) on Thursday in the first game of
the 2006 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament in the Redlands
Bracket. The two split a doubleheader in San Antonio back in
April. Thursday's game time is 10 a.m. PT.

Trinity wins
2006 Softball title in dramatic fashion
SEWANEE, Tenn. -
Sunday's championship
game between Trinity University and DePauw University showcased
excellent pitching (12 combined strikeouts), three home runs and
late inning heroics. Trinity led 5-0, DePauw got off the deck and
rallied with two dingers to draw even late, only to have Trinity
win it in the eighth.

teams lock up SCAC Softball Tournament Berths
Centre and
DePauw in East; Trinity and Millsaps in West
With two more more
conference weekends to go, four of the six berths to the 2006 SCAC
Softball Tournament have been wrapped up. Centre and DePauw locked
up bids in the East while Trinity and Millsaps can make
reservations for the 2006 SCAC Spring Sports Festival as well.
