Gong of Rhodes; Taillon of Trinity highlight 2004 All-SCAC Tennis Teams
SUWANEE, Ga.
-- In exclusive voting by the head coaches in the league, Stephanie Gong of Rhodes College and Jordan Taillon of Trinity University have been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tennis Players-of-the-Year for the 2004 season. DePauw falls in NCAA first-round match

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- DePauw, ranked 25th in Division III, finished the 2004 season with a 4-1 loss to 11th-ranked Washington (Mo.) in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship. The Tigers finished the season with an 11-13 record. (More)

DePauw and Trinity selected to NCAA field
Trinity University, ranked ninth in Division III, and DePauw University, ranked 25th, have earned spots in the 27-team NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship and open play this weekend.

Trinity’s men (14-11) host Whitman College (Wash.) Sunday at noon at Delavan Tennis Stadium on the campus of Trinity. The winning team advances to the national quarterfinals May 12-14 at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.

DePauw's men (11-12) face Washington, Mo. (12-9) Saturday at 2 p.m. at Kalamazoo College. Kenyon (15-3) and Kalamazoo (16-8) square off at 10:30 a.m. EDT on Saturday in the first match of the four-team Central Region bracket. The winners meet on Sunday at Noon EDT for the right to advance to the national quarterfinals.

Trinity is making its 12th consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championship while DePauw is making its fifth consecutive trip and 10th overall.

Trinity wins 2004 SCAC Men's Tennis Title
ATLANTA, Ga. - The Trinity University men defended its conference crown with a 7-0 shutout of DePauw University in the title match of the 2004 SCAC Men's Tennis Championships Sunday morning at Blackburn Park.

The Tiger men captured their 12th overall conference championship and 11th in a row.

NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis National Championship
MEMPHIS, Tenn.
- Rhodes College has been selected to host the 2004 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis National Championships in May, 2004. Competition will take place May 12-17 at Rhodes Dunavant Tennis Center and the Racquet Club of Memphis. Complete Release in PDF Format
