Southwestern's White; Long highlight 2005 Women's Volleyball All-Conference team
SUWANEE, Ga.
- On the heels of the program’s most successful season since joining the conference in 1994, Southwestern University senior Misti White was a near unanimous choice for 2005 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player-of-the-Year in exclusive all-conference voting by the league's head coaches. Trinity's Jackson named AVCA First Team All-American
Four Tigers earn selections
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
- Trinity University senior middle blocker Lauren Jackson was named First Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Southwestern; Trinity suffer season-ending losses at NCAA Tournament
ATLANTA, Ga.
- Both Trinity's and Southwestern's seasons came to an end Friday night at the NCAA South Regionals at Emory. Trinity lost to second-seed and future SCAC opponent Austin College 3-1 and Southwestern fell to the nation's top-seeded team and host school Emory University by the same 3-1 score. SCAC has six named to 2005 AVCA All-Region Volleyball Team
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
- Six SCAC student-athletes were selected to the 2005 AVCA All-South Region team, including five Trinity players. Sara Buros, Lauren Jackson, Micaeli Smith and Kamri Young - all of Trinity - were named to the First Team and Joni Jacobi of Trinity and Misti White of Southwestern received Honorable Mention. Southwestern and Trinity both win in NCAA First Round action
ATLANTA, Ga.
- Trinity's volleyball team lost the first two games to Christopher Newport at the NCAA South Regionals on Thursday, but rallied to win an exciting five-game thriller. The Tigers fought off match points to take game five by the final of 18-16. Southwestern had an easier time of it, putting away Washington & Lee in three straight. Southwestern clinches NCAA Automatic Bid; shares SCAC title with Trinity

- The Southwestern volleyball team (35-4, 17-1 SCAC) ended the regular season on a high note with 3-0 sweeps over Centre and Millsaps. With the victories, the Pirates finish up with 17-1 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), sharing the conference title with Trinity. SEWANEE, Tenn. - The second SCAC Volleyball Cross Divisional signals the end of the regular season and Sewanee serves as host for this weekend's final three days of conference competition. Trinity enters the weekend with a half-game lead over Southwestern for the race to the SCAC title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Trinity closes out Western Division sweep with 3-1 victory over Rhodes
MEMPHIS, Tenn.
- Trinity closed out the second SCAC Volleyball Western Divisional with a 19-30, 30-17, 30-23, 30-27 victory over the host team Rhodes on Saturday afternoon. The win extended Trinity's winning streak against Division III opponents to nine matches. Official Western Division Website

West is Best at First SCAC Cross Divisional
SAN ANTONIO, Texas
- The Western Division schools dominated play at the First SCAC Volleyball Cross Divisional this past weekend at Trinity. In 25 matches contested over three days, Western schools defeated their Eastern counterparts in 22 of them, including a 10-0 sweep of matches on Friday's opening day. Southwestern snaps Trinity's 75-match win streak
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - For the first time since Nov. 5, 2000, Trinity lost a conference volleyball match. Southwestern defeated Trinity 30-25, 30-28, 31-29 Wednesday evening at the University of Texas-San Antonio - snapping a 75-match win streak for the Tigers. Southwestern unable to travel to Memphis for West Divisional
SUWANEE, Ga.
- Due to travel issues in connection with Hurricane Rita, Southwestern University will not compete in this weekend's first SCAC Western Divisional at Memphis. The schedule has been changed, reflecting Southwestern's absence, and can be accessed here. Facing a brutal schedule, Trinity dropped three matches but slipped just one place to 14th in this week's AVCA National Rankings. The Tigers lost to No. 5 La Verne (3-2), top-ranked Washington (Mo.) SUWANEE, Ga. - The Trinity University Tigers have been selected to win their eighth-consecutive women’s volleyball SCAC championship, based on exclusive voting by the head coaches in the conference. Linebarger to lead Volleyball Majors in 2005

Linebarger has joined Millsaps College and the Department of Athletics as head coach for the Majors women’s volleyball team, in an announcement made by Millsaps College Director of Athletics Ron Jurney, Friday.
