SCAC Women's Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Week
(For meets run Friday, Oct. 12th and Saturday, Oct. 13th)

LAUREN REICH OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Mesa, Ariz., has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13.

Reich
finished third at the Great Lakes Pre-Regional at Calvin College. She covered the 6k course in a personal best time of 21:57 finishing between Calvin's all-Americans. 

Reich's time ranks second on DePauw's all-time list, and her performance helped her team to a second place finish - just 19 points behind the No. 2 ranked Calvin team.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Jocelyn Jenks of Colorado College
led the team for the fifth time in five races with a fourth-place finish overall (out of 210 runners). Jenks finished with a personal best time of 18:58.19 for the 5k course despite having to restart the race due to the first 40 runners being led off the course (this after just past the 1 mile point before the race was called back). Jenks led the CC women to a third-place overall team finish (out of 25 schools) in a field composed of mostly NAIA schools.


WEEK 6

SCAC Women's Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Week
(For meets run Friday, Oct. 5th and Saturday, Oct. 6th)

EMILY LOEFFLER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6.

Loeffler
set a school record at the University of Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday, pacing the women in 17:55 for a second place individual finish in the 5K race.

Loeffler broke her own school record by more than 26 seconds and becomes the first female in Trinity history to run a sub-18 time in the 5k.

The Trinity women went on to win the team title in the all Division I and II field in humid, 80 degree weather.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Lauren Reich of DePauw finished seventh at the Border Wars Invitational at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. She covered the 5K course in a time of 18:58 to lead the Tiger women to a second place finish to Missouri Southern, who is ranked ninth in Division II. Senior Jocelyn Jenks of Colorado College, in temperatures of 85 degrees plus and winds in excess of 30 mph, led the team with a eighth place overall finish out of 104 runners at the Fort Hays State Invitational. Jenks finished with a personal best time of 19:11 for the 5K course - one of the fastest times on this course by a CC female athlete at this meet. Colorado College was the only Division III school at this meet.


WEEK 5

SCAC Women's Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Week
(For meets run Friday, Sept. 28th and Saturday, Sept. 29th)

CYBIL COVIC OF RHODES COLLEGE, a sophomore from Cordova, Tenn., has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, September 28 and Saturday, September 29.

Covic
established a new personal best of 19:16 over the 5K course at the Rhodes College Invitational - finishing seventh out of 137 runners. 

For the third meet in a row, Covic was the team's top finisher, helping the Lynx to a second place finish out of 18 schools.

Covic’s seventh place finish made her the top Division III finisher behind five Division I and one Division II athletes.   

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Jocelyn Jenks of Colorado College led the team for the third time this season with a seventh place finish overall. This is the highest individual finish ever by a CC female athlete at this meet. Jocelyn also finished with a personal best time of 19:14 for the 5K course and helped the women to a fifth-place team finish (out of 25 schools) in the college/ junior college division. Colorado College was the only Division III school at this meet.


WEEK 4

SCAC Women's Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Week
(For meets run Friday, Sept. 21st and Saturday, Sept. 22nd)

TAYLOR PENROD OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a senior from Barrington, Ill., has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22.

Penrod
was the top collegiate runner (out of 181) at the Otterbein Invitational - her first individual win at the college level. 

Penrod covered the 6k course in 22:48, and was followed closely by three of her teammates as the Tigers won the 16 team meet
.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Emily Loeffler of Trinity, in her second race this season, defended her individual title at the Texas DIII State Championships as she crossed the finish line five seconds ahead of her teammate with a time of 23:49. The Tigers defended the team title with Loeffler leading the way for five other Tigers to finish in the top eight as TU scored just 17 points. Senior Jocelyn Jenks of Colorado College, for the second time in two races this season, led the Tigers with a personal best time of 23:46 for the 6K course - besting her previous best of 24:39 set in 2006. She was also third in the collegiate division (of 65 total) helping to lead the women’s team to a third=place finish (out of eight schools composed of mostly Division II and NAIA schools).


WEEK 3

SCAC Women's Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Week
(For meets run Friday, Sept. 14th through Saturday, Sept. 15th)

LAURA ARDINGTON OF DEPAUW UNIVERSITY, a first-year runner from Fort Wayne, Ind., has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, September 14 and Saturday, September 15.

Ardington
finished 17th at the Indiana Intercollegiates, covering the 5K course in 18:39. 

Ardington's 17th-place finish was the second highest ever by a DePauw runner in this meet. 

She was DePauw's top runner, leading the Tigers to a fourth-place overall finish and first among the small schools.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Christy Sweaney of Colorado College, in just her second race of the season, placed first on the team with a time of 20:55.1 at the Colorado State Invitational, just beating out her teammate by two seconds. This was the first time this season that she led the team. Sweaney placed 29th overall in a field 54 - consisting of mostly Division I and Division II runners.


WEEK 2

(For meets run Friday, Sept. 7th through Saturday, Sept. 8th)

D'ANN ARTHUR OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Colleyville, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8.

Arthur
finished third overall in 18:23 at the Texas State Invitational behind two University of Texas runners.

Arthur was the top D3 runner in a meet dominated by Division I runners, helping Trinity to a third-place finish - just one point behind the second-place host school Texas State.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year runner Regina Basconi of Centre
finished fifth overall in the Centre Invitational this past weekend. Basconi ran a 20:51 on the very hilly 5K course to lead the Centre women to a first-place finish - ahead of NAIA-ranked Lindsey Wilson College.


WEEK 1

SCAC Women's Cross Country

(For meets run Friday, Aug. 31st through Saturday, Sept. 1st)

JOCELYN JENKS OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., has been selected the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September 1.

Jenks
finished 14th out of 57 runners with a personal record of 19:21 to lead the Tigers to a 14th-place finish at the Adams State Joe I. Vigil open in a field of some of the top Division II programs in the country.

Jenks' personal best before Saturday was 19:32.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Cybil Covic of Rhodes finished 12th out of 149 runners (fifth among Division III competitors) at the University of the South Invitational. Covic's finish helped the Rhodes women earn a fourth place finish out of 18 teams. This race marked the first time in her career that Covic has finished as the Lynx' top runner.
